T1 Keria | Post Match Interview after 3:0 win vs TES Quarterfinals
Translation of the interview uploaded on Oct- 19 by LCK | 2024 Worlds Championship Quarterfinals
Jeesun: It was a really clean win today. How do you feel and did you expect such outcome?
Keria: When we played TES (at Swiss), I think we lost because of our own mistakes. So we had confidence that we would win if we faced them again. I was expecting a score of more like 3:2 where we would win with more difficulty, so I'm happy.
Jeesun: Looking at your in-game play, you seemed to be in your best form. But, in fact we heard that you didn't sleep well last night. How are you feeling now?
Keria: Well, I was kept myself in a good state till now but from about 9 o'clock I heard this nail drilling noise against my ears. I woke up and it seemed that there was some construction nearby. It wasn't easy (playing with lack of sleep) but I'm glad we won.
Jeesun: It seems that you had maintained a good wellbeing so one day's disturbance didn't cause issues. In the first set, you made great plays as the Bard skin maker and unbelievable performance with Pyke in the last set. As a player who can pull out surprise picks, people thought you may do so again. What was the reasoning behind those picks today?
Keria: In the first set we thought our composition was really good and that we couldn't lose if I played Bard. In the third set, we thought the opponent made very good draft. So we were drafting to match that. But when it came to the last pick, we concluded that if we played a standard champion, their composition would have the upper-hand in standard macro and team fights. We were thinking about what champion would be good to add onto our existing composition, and came to decide on Pyke as a team.
Jeesun: Regarding Pyke, CloudTemplar absolutely praised as Pyke's play that you would never have seen in your lift. Given Pyke is not a standard champion, he comes out rarely on stage. How are you able to play it so intricately?
Keria: First of all, I've played Pyke frequently in the past and was a pick that I was confident with. I just never had the right opportunity to play it but I was always ready for Pyke as I am with any champion. Since this is an important match, I thought it will add pressure to the other team to face Pyke so we came to drafting it.
Jeesun: The formidable part about T1's bot duo is that you guys are aggressive yet Gumayusi stability is incredible. He is continuing a 0 death streak (in Bo5). What are your thoughts on your (bot duo) form.
Keria: I actually don't think we are playing that amazingly. We will have to improve upon our form even more if we want to win Worlds. The next match is likely to be the biggest... (waving hand, looking for the right word)
Jeesun: Hurdle?
Keria: Yes, hurdle. So we will prepare well and bring up our form during this upcoming.
Jeesun: Your fixture is one where you could meet either Gen.G of LCK or FlyQuest of LCS. Which do team do you expect to meet at Semi-finals? Could you also tell us about your resolution briefly for the upcoming match.
Keria: Like how many people expect Gen.G to prevail, I also think Gen.G is the straight up/favoured result. Having said that, I feel that FlyQuest is also formidable - when we practiced against them previously. At Worlds Championship, you never know what kind things can happen so I think FlyQuest could also come out on top too.
Jeesun: If Gen.G makes it to Semi-finals as expected, what do you have to say for a payback?
Keria: It's been a while since we won against Gen.G at LCK. (pause...) We haven't really met them in big (international) games. If we meet them here and pay them back it will be an amazing story.
